More at Dawes. Did I mention I'm afraid of heights? kids were soooo sweet and encouraging about taking me up in this lookout tower, holding my hands, cheering me on, I thought I was just playing along with their nurturing and really wasn't afraid, but I only made it to the first landing! You can see that they fearlessly got to the top!

The last picture is a really cool thing that was tough to capture in photo. A woman took a branch from each of 20 species of trees and carved an intricate model of each tree's leaf from its own wood. ( You can see the cool bird-watching window reflected in the photo)

Gorgeous time at Dawes, but would love to go back with less rain, and longer-legged companions to really tackle the trails!
